Practices Overview:

Mind training encompasses two main approaches: virtue and meditation. Regardless of where you are on your journey, you are encouraged to choose a practice that resonates with you and is manageable to sustain. Remember, every step forward is valuable — there’s no wrong choice when it comes to your level of practice.

1. Cultivating virtue across all facets of your life and purifying the intentions that condition your thoughts, words, and actions.

2. Meditating to experience peace, joy, and happiness.

Virtue

Making an effort at being virtuous in all aspects of your life

This level can be adopted by most because it does not entail diverting time from your life and is practiced whatever you’re doing in the moment. Its aim is to be aware of the nature of your intentions, allow those that are unethical to arise and pass without acting on them, and seed and reinforce those rooted in benevolence.
If you’re a busy mom of three and investing some time and energy in a daily practice of meditation would just make it more challenging for you, this is how you want to practice for now. If you feel complete and content with your life as it is, embracing virtue in your daily interactions is a meaningful and sufficient practice.

meditation

Meditating to enrich your life and experiencing joy and happiness

If you feel like dedicating at least 2 minutes of your day to a meditation session, this level is for you. The quality of your life will increase as you cultivate perspective, serenity, joy, and other positive mental factors. Over time, you will come to experience deep states of calm and release that will permeate every aspects of your life and relationships.
